Some years ago, I looked on approvingly as a fellow in Pennsylvania, a self-professed fan, set up a website about my films called Fleeting Joy — taking a cue from a line in NADJA, spoken by the title character, a discontented vampire:

Life is full of pain. But I am not afraid. The pain I feel is the pain of fleeting joy.

These words were in fact lifted from a play by my friend David Edelstein.  The Pennsylvanian web designer’s enthusiasm, at any rate, proved fleeting — the site now exists as a well-organized ruin, frozen at a point in the early aughts.  All the same, a good deal of Fleeting Joy’s contents are imported into this new site, filled out with more recent work, more extensive links, newer news.
