“The film packs a heavyweight artistic punch through its formal daring and endearingly romantic pessimism… Almereyda and cinematographer Jim Denault imbue the monochrome material with an ethereal, otherworldly quality that manages to be extremely seductive while resembling the inside of somebody’s head.” - Jason Wood, 100 American Independent Films (BFI Publishing)

The DVD features two Pixelvision shorts – ALIENS and THE ROCKING HORSE WINNER – plus AT SUNDANCE, a documentary co-directed with Amy Hobby, featuring Richard Linklater, Ethan Hawke, Todd Haynes, Greg Araki, Abel Ferrara, Atom Egoyan, Robert Redford and many others.
